Why Mungdolphin Belongs on Your Seoul Itinerary: A Gangnam Dog Café You Can Enjoy Without a Dog
Palaces, night markets, K-beauty shopping… and a room full of fluffy little dogs? Dog cafés are one of Seoul's most charming travel experiences, and Mungdolphin (멍돌핀), a small-dog café in Gangnam, is made to be easy for visitors from abroad — even if you're traveling without your own dog.
Here's why it deserves a spot on your Seoul itinerary, what our free app (now in English, Japanese and Chinese) does for travelers, and how its in-app events can earn you a café pass.
Why Mungdolphin is a must-visit in Seoul
🐶 No dog? No problem
Mungdolphin is home to friendly, well-cared-for resident dogs. Grab a drink, sit down on the floor and wait — curious pups usually come over to say hello first. It's the perfect break if you're missing your own dog back home. The name says it all: "Mungdolphin" means the happy endorphins you get just by zoning out with dogs.
📅 Open 365 days, until 10 PM
We're open every day of the year, including Korean holidays like Chuseok and Lunar New Year. Hours are 8:00–22:00 on weekdays and 10:00–22:00 on weekends, so you can drop by in the evening after a full day of sightseeing.
🚇 Easy to reach from the airport and around Gangnam
We're about 7 minutes on foot from Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9) and about 10 minutes from Nonhyeon Station (Line 7). Landing at Gimpo Airport? The Line 9 express goes straight to Sinnonhyeon in about 35 minutes.
🙆 Just walk in
No reservation is needed for the café or the play room, and we accept credit cards and cash.
📱 A free app in your language
The Mungdolphin app speaks English, 日本語, 繁體中文 and 简体中文 (and Korean). It follows your phone's language automatically, and it runs in your browser — nothing to download from an app store.
What the app does for travelers
- Directions: our spot on a map, plus live walking directions from where you are — distance, minutes and an arrow pointing the way. One tap opens Naver Map, Kakao Map, Google Maps or Apple Maps (Naver Map gives the best walking routes in Korea).
- Taxi card: our address in large Korean text to show your driver.
- Chat: message us in the app instead of calling. English or a message from your translation app is fine.
- Prices before you book: traveling with your small dog? Daycare, the dog hotel, the play room and grooming can be requested in the app, and the estimated price is shown before you send the request.
- Photos & videos: while your dog stays with us, our teachers post photos and videos to the app — handy when you're across town at a palace or a market.
- MungStar & a virtual pup: watch videos of our dogs and raise a free virtual pup, even after you fly home.
Visitor perks & in-app events
Sign in with Google and these are open to everyone, with or without a dog:
- 🎁 Welcome gift — ₩2,000 off: join the app and a ₩2,000 voucher lands in your account (once per family). You don't have to post anything to get it — we take ₩2,000 off when you pay.
- 📸 Show-off event: film our pups in the app and tap “Post to Instagram & the board” — the video goes to both in one go (or post to the board only). Every month, the video with the most hearts on the board wins a free ☕ café pass. Instagram likes don't count, so everyone gets a fair shot.
- 📅 Daily attendance stamp: tap once a day to get a stamp (a new day starts at midnight Korea time). Missed days are fine — every stamped day counts. Each stamp brings 10–50 🦴 Mung-bones, and milestones unlock passes: day 15 ☕ café pass, day 30 🎒 1-day daycare pass, day 45 ☕ café pass, day 60 🏨 1-night hotel pass, day 75 ☕ café pass and day 90 🚐 10 pickup rides. Start stamping about two weeks before your trip and your café pass will be ready when you arrive. Each pass can be received once per family — just show it to our staff at the café.
- 🏆 Weekly challenge: post a photo on the show-off board with that week's hashtag. The pup with the most hearts wins a 🥇 challenge badge and 🦴 300.
- 💌 Invite friends: a friend who joins through your invite link gets 🦴 200, and your own gift grows with every friend you invite.
- 🏅 Badges: collect badges for attendance, posts, the virtual pup and more.
